PRESIDENT Olusegun Obasanjo has directed that henceforth only personnel of the Customs, Immigration and the Police are to offer security at the seaports. The directive was conveyed at the weekend by the Minister of Transport, Chief Abiye Sekibo, at the end of the International Conference on Maritime Security, in Abuja. He said that the President had reiterated his determination to ensure strict compliance with the newly introduced International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS Code) by ensuring that only certified security personnel are allowed access to the seaports. © 2004 Daily Champion.
